Vvaraak's Calendar

Whether or not this item was created by the great seer Vvaraak is a matter for some debate. It is certainly old and its craftmanship does seem to have both the influece of dragons and the weight of history about it.

This necklace is a cord of twisted and braided wood and plant fibers supporting carved representations of the 12 moons of Eberron. Each of the moons is carved from a different substance, most semi-precious stones and metals ... however one is clearly some form of ivory and another clearly bone from some undetermined beast.

Some have remarked that this is not just a necklace - but rather a puzzle. The different cords and braids are wound in and out of each other but can be manipulated similar to many simple children's toys and puzzles. The configuration of these, however, can be set to represent key astrological positions of the moons. Some of thse are easier to perform than others and a few scholars who know of this device believe that the right configuration at the right place and time may unlock mystical powers.

The abilities at 7th and 9th can easily be replicated by spells (and the same spell at that) so I'm looking into what would be good replacement's there.  I'm thinking possibleToB maneuvers and stances.  Dance of the Spider (Shadowhand 3 stance) is one option - also adding Sneak Attack +1d6 or Assassin's Stance as the other.

One With Spirits - This grants the One With Shadow maneuver as a known maneuver (but it still must be readied if it is to be used).

Legacy Rituals

Least

As one first starts on the path to unlocking the mysteries of this item is understanding its basic nature and pledging yourself to its further discovery. To unlock this the bearer must identify the 12 moons individually and the specific substance from which each is made.

Lesser

The second key to understanding Vvaraak's Talisman is understanding history and its cyclical nature. The bearer must take the amulet to the Chrololith observatory in the Byshek Mountains; once there the bearer is there the must match the configuration of the neckalce with the constellations in the sky. This ritual requires 12 days and during this time you may not eat or drink (except for water).

Greater

The Chronolith is both a calendar and a map ... to unlock the greater mysteries you must use the Chronolith to determine when each moon will reach its zeneith in the next year and where on Khorvaire are the best places to observe them. You must travel to each of those locations on the appointed day and spend the night meditating (12 hours each).
